2019 Conference Recap:

iSC’s 13th annual teacher’s conference was a wonderful, global flavored experience this past week. It was the first time nearly all LDi - iSC staff, both expat and Chinese, from all seven of our China schools joined together for the same conference. Six hundred participants from iSC China, The Wellspring School, three other international schools in China as well as presenters and guests from seven universities joined together for three fantastic days of keynotes, breakout sessions and working time for Communities of Practice. Marketing, IT, Finance and HR also held planning and training sessions.

This year for the first time a conference App, Whova, was used to manage the conference. Whova allowed Director of Adult Learning, Karen Anderson and Director of National Staff PD, Judy Guo, to manage the scheduling for 238 different sessions and other activities during the conference. Whova also facilitated communication with participants and allowed conference planners to adjust meeting times on the fly as needed. It also facilitated 23 “meet ups” of a wide variety.

YHIS: Yantai Huasheng International School

  • We are thankful for the opportunity to host and participate in the 2019 iSC Education Conference. It was a fantastic time of meeting old friends, making new ones, and engaging with peers in honing our craft as we focus on transforming lives.
  • We are encouraged by the relationships and meaningful time our youth had in Shanghai. Continue to think about those involved and that the relationships and conversations would continue.
  • We look forward to this season of thankfulness and the coming season of Christmas. We ask for opportunities to build relationships and share stories with the communities we interact with.

WYIS: Wuhan Yangtze International School

  • WYIS would like to thank the Yantai team for blessing us with an enriching few days on your campus. We look forward to the post-conference conversations and plans as we work out next steps from our campuses. We continue to seek deeper relationships with students and families and ask that we would have the opportunity to partner in the transformative work already happening in their lives.
